The Challenge

Combatting aging legacy systems and complex processes

Maritz, a leader in the sales and marketing industry, was challenged with aging hardware, overtaxed IT staff, and complex system processes. Because the company was entering a phase of massive growth, Maritz could not afford critical business operations to be impeded or working inefficiently. There were several issues that needed to be addressed. Their existing hardware struggled to keep up with 27 key on-premises applications and execute proper capacity planning. Their disaster recovery was insufficient, often taking over 72 hours to complete. Additionally, a few key personnel announced their retirement, and Maritz lacked internal expertise to maintain their aging legacy environment. The present state of operations was not sustainable and needed significant improvements.

The Solution

Although Maritz was able to identify a platform for improvement, they needed advisory and support resources to implement a solution tailored to their specific use case. Within months, Argano completely modernized Maritz’s applications and implemented a cloud-based solution that ran faster, more efficiently, and at a much lower cost. Over 100 integrations improved data quality, reduced processes from hours to minutes, and enabled near-limitless scale. Their tailored solution comprised of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Database, Oracle Linux, and Oracle WebLogic Server delivered unmatched reliability, scalability, and performance which fully revamped Maritz business operations on all levels. Areas of improvement included automated customer service relationship management, online transaction processing, data warehousing, and enterprise resource planning. The ease of use offered by the Oracle software further streamlined previously disconnected workload procedures and cut down hours of time.

The Results

Increased efficiencies and reduced cost

Since migrating to the cloud, Maritz accelerated their performance and has seen improvement across the board. Their EBS performance improved by ten times over the prior assessment and the Disaster Recovery window reduced from 72 hours to 4. Maritz was elated to discover that concurrent financial processes which used to take 2 hours could now be completed in just 10 minutes. The lowering of infrastructure costs to boot was the icing on the cake.
