Course Description:

The Essbase Block Storage calc engine is one of its most powerful features. Sadly, most people are just using simple member formulas and running default aggregation calcs.  To unlock the true power of Essbase BSO, you need to tap into Essbase Calc Scripts and the 350+ functions that make up the Essbase Calc Script language. In this session, we’ll go way beyond the basics (like CALC ALL, CALC DIM, and SET) and get into complex topics such as allocation, data cleansing and cross-dimensional calculations. We also give you a few tips and tricks on optimizing Calc Scripts and we’ll make sure to explain why that whole “FIX on sparse, IF on dense” mantra is wrong half the time.  This knowledge is gained through material review and hands on exercises. This course is recommended for Oracle Essbase Administrators.
