Automating Project Driven Supply Chain Management

Summary

The project driven supply chain is constantly changing and there are many elements that must be managed in a large-scale mega-project environment. These include interacting with all the parties involved, determining, planning for, and procuring materials and equipment, capturing relevant documents and projected costs, and managing against the plan, all while knowing in near-real time where any piece of equipment or material is from design to installation.

These elements traditionally have been managed in a disconnected manner, using field solutions to interact with stakeholders and manage the project plan and separately manage material plans, procurement progress, cost management, and billing systems. Ad hoc changes in the schedule do not automatically adjust material purchases, and partners and suppliers often lack an up-to-date plan, driving up material costs.

Geoff Roberts

Geoff Roberts has over 40 years of experience in all aspects of project management and project controls. He has been associated with Oracle CEGBU for 20+ years and currently works as the Industry & Customer Director. His role involves providing strategic direction, domain expertise, and insights. Additionally, he offers input into industry solutions provided to customers, participates in CII research teams, and writes articles on project management and project controls.

Geoff believes that innovation and digitalization are crucial components of project delivery. He supports the CEGBU innovation strategy and identifies new partners who can add value to customers. He also enables customers to interact with these technologies in our Innovations labs.

 

Jason Andrews
Director of Solutions, Argano

Jason has worked with ERP products since the early 1990’s and Oracle products since the late 1990’s. Jason has spent most of his career focused on building end-to-end solutions that solve client business problems, solutions often include multiple Oracle non-Oracle solutions. Working in multiple projects-based industries with heavy experience in Engineering and Construction, Jason realized that a connected project-driven supply chain is required. Working with Oracle Cloud ERP and SCM solutions since 2014 Jason used knowledge of Oracle PPM, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Supply Chain Planning, alongside Primavera solutions to build a true construction-driven Supply Chain solution.
