From Legacy Systems to Leading Edge: A Cloud Journey to Innovation and Efficiency

1

The Challenge

Established in 1946, Chase Corporation has carved a niche as a global leader in specialty chemicals and creating protective materials for high-reliability applications across various industries. The company was operating on an outdated JD Edwards World system, which posed not only heightened security risks but also limitations in its technological framework. The aging technology hindered Chase's ability to effectively streamline its value chain, impacting efficiency and the company's ability to innovate and respond to market demands swiftly.

Recognizing the critical need for an upgrade, Chase Corporation faced the challenge of modernizing its IT infrastructure to better support its operations and maintain a competitive edge in its fast-evolving business.

The Solution

In pursuit of modernization, Chase Corporation partnered with Argano to conduct a thorough assessment of its existing applications and business operations. This collaboration led to a strategic decision to transition to Oracle Cloud ERP and SCM, aiming for a transformation that would not only mitigate risks but also enhance operational efficiency.

Argano's meticulous and tailored approach incorporated its rapid integrations framework along with collaborative messaging framework (CMK)-based EDI integrations for comprehensive B2B, B2C, robotic process automation (RPA), and sales order approvals. The initial phase of the implementation focused on integrating Financials, Projects, Product Lifecycle Management, Procurement, and Order Management into a hybrid solution that connected JDE with Oracle Cloud Applications.

The second phase was even more ambitious, fully integrating out-of-the-box cloud solutions for Manufacturing, Quality, Inventory Management, Receiving, and Order Fulfillment. This phase concentrated on enhancing the capabilities of Chase’s global manufacturing organizations in England and France.
