When I tell people I started my career in accounting, transitioned into academia, and now serve as Chief Culture Officer at Argano, I usually get the same question: How does all of that connect?
In reality, every step of my career has shaped how I approach culture today. My background in finance taught me how to quantify the tangible impact of culture on business performance. My experience in education showed me the power of learning-oriented environments to drive engagement and innovation. And at Argano—where we’ve integrated 16 diverse companies into one unified organization—I’ve realized that while culture is often overlooked, it is the most powerful, and underestimated, driver of business success.
That’s why I created Culture Capital—a space to move beyond discussions of culture and into real, practical strategies that make a measurable impact. In this series, we’ll explore how intentional culture-building fuels growth, strengthens alignment, and positions companies to remain competitive.
As industries evolve at breakneck speed—with AI, automation, and hybrid work redefining how we collaborate, innovate, and grow—organizations must reassess their core principles. The modern workforce is no longer satisfied with just a paycheck; they seek workplaces that offer meaning, connection, and a shared vision. Employees want to feel valued, know their contributions matter, and see how their work aligns with a greater purpose. Companies that prioritize culture strengthen engagement, enhance collaboration, and create the adaptability needed to thrive in an evolving marketplace. Those that fail to do so risk falling behind.
At Argano, our culture journey has been shaped by the challenge of bringing together 16 global teams into a single, cohesive organization. While we’ve made significant strides, we recognize that culture isn’t built overnight. It’s a continuous process—one that evolves alongside our people, our growth, and the shifting dynamics of our business. True cultural progress isn’t about reaching an endpoint; it’s about sustaining momentum through learning, adaptation, and collective commitment.
That’s why from day one, we have prioritized open dialogue, structured recognition, and shared values—laying the groundwork for an environment where people feel empowered and engaged. Building culture goes beyond checking a box—it requires ongoing commitment to embedding our values into how we work, communicate, and collaborate as we grow. This ongoing commitment has driven above-industry-standard engagement scores, strengthened employee retention, and supported long-term business expansion.
Keeping culture at the center of our organization means making it a core part of daily decision-making, leadership practices, and team interactions. It’s not static—it’s a living, evolving force that fuels innovation, strengthens resilience, and ensures we stay adaptable in the face of change.
Each edition of this series will explore how culture directly influences business outcomes—and how leaders can build thriving, people-centered organizations. We’ll discuss topics like:
Through my experiences, I’ll share firsthand insights, tested strategies, and practical approaches to shaping workplace culture in ways that foster resilience, innovation, and long-term success.
But culture isn’t built in isolation—it thrives through shared experiences and collective learning. I’d love to hear from you: What cultural challenges are top of mind for you? What has made the greatest impact in your organization?
Culture Capital is a platform for meaningful dialogue, fresh insights, and actionable strategies. In the next edition, we’ll explore the power of recognition—how thoughtful acknowledgment fuels engagement, strengthens trust, and reinforces a thriving workplace culture.
Let’s shape the future of workplace culture together.
