The Challenge
Heavily customized accounting infrastructure did not fit the needs of its workforce
Turner Industries, one of the largest private employers in the heavy industrial sector, knew its workforce needed deeper capabilities than what its legacy JD Edwards World solution provided. As an issuer of over 40,000 W2s, ensuring payroll issues were transitioned smoothly was critical. Additionally, there was some Turner-specific functionality that needed to be integrated into JD Edwards standard functionality, as well as third-party bolt-ons.
The Solution
Upgrade from JDE World to JDE EnterpriseOne, without disrupting day-to-day operations
To meet all the needs of their clients and partners and implement a modern platform that would take them into future decades, Turner knew they needed to upgrade from JDE World to JDE EnterpriseOne. Argano incorporated special considerations around ETO fabrication, a custom Quality module, time capture programs, and planning. The full suite included Financials, Job Cost, Contract/Service Billing, Subcontracts, Procurement, Capital Asset Management, Time and Lanor, HR and Payroll ETO, Work Orders, Advanced Pricing, and Inventory Management.
The Results
A modernized organization ready for future expansion plans and equipped with greater visibility
Turner Industries had a complex set of requirements for this large upgrade project. Argano implemented the full JD Edwards EnterpriseOne suite, which resulted in better visibility of financials, more effective control of labor and assets, and optimized inventory inflows and outflows. The new platform leverages standard functionality and positions them for growth and expansion, with plans already in place to implement additional E1 modules. Managed Services support allows them to focus on their business and employees, while Argano’s tenured on-shore consultants oversee the daily needs of the modern JDE solution.
